Remained in Stevens Point, WI when his mother remarried and moved to Shreveport, LA. He was mentioned in the local newspaper for being on the school honor roll, belonging to the Elite Club and winning a bicycle race. Between 1898 and 1903, he moved to Spokane, WA, which was also the residence of his mother at that time. He was employed at Old National Bank. In 1906 he was promoted to paying teller. His wife was from Stevens Point.
