In 1820. Thomas B. REMINGTON was living in Aurelius Twp, Cayuga Co. NY. Was a resident of Bristol, Ontario Co, NY in 1830 with 2 males under 5, 1 male between 5 and 10, 1 male 15 to 20, one male between 30 and 40 and 2 females between 30 and 40.
On 15 July, 1835, in Canandaigua Twp, Ontario Co. NY Thomas B. REMINGTON appeared in Surrogate Court as general guardian of the minor children of John Bray, (deceased): Lucy, Betsey and Sally Jane BRAY.
There is a record of a Thoomas B. REMINGTON of Ontario Co. NY on an 1837 land patent for Genesee Co. MI
In 1840, Thomas was in the Bristol Twp, Ontario Co, NY census with his wife and three sons.
By 1850 Thomas and his brother, John, had both settled in Allen Twp, Hillsdale Co. MI, his family included himself, age 57, farmer, born in RI, his wife, Elizabeth, 50, born in NY, and son James, 16 farmer, born in NY.
The 1860 census for Allen has: Thos. REMiNGTON, 66, farmer, born in RI, Elizabeth, 60, born in NJ, Minerva, 14, attending school, b. MI; Peter Marsh, 14, attending school, born in Ind, and Ian (female) 6/12, born in MI. Four years later his wife Elizabeth died.
By 1870, he was living with J. C. REMINGTON in Allen; he was 77 years old and worked as a railroad hand. He died there four years later, a widower at age 81, of congestion of the lungs.
