There was a Charles REMINGTON, age 26, that appeared in the 1850 census for the village of Hillsdale, MI. He was a medical student living with a Dr. & Mrs. Franklin FRENDH/
He was in the Civil War enlisting in Kalamazoo, MI on 28 Nov, 1861 as a private. He served in Co. H, 13th Michigan infantry. He was promoted to Full Assistant surgeon on 18 Dec 1862. He resigned and received a disability discharge on 26 Jan. 1864
In the 1870 census, Dr. Charles REMINGTON lived in Quincy, Branch Co. MI. He was 42, born in NY, his wife Louisa was 38, born in MI. His three daughters were: Lulu, 15, Carrie, 10, and Bessie, 5, all were born in MI.
By 1880, The REMINGTONS had moved to Stevens Point, Portage Co. MI
