Obituary 2002:
Alice O. Jones, 94, of 804 Route 248, Whitesville, died Thursday (Aug. 1, 2002) in Jones Memorial Hospital, Wellsville.
Born July 23, 1906 in Whitesville, she was a daughter of Jacob M and Martha A Seger Swort. On March 17, 1926, in Wellsville, she married Victor Hunt, who died June 29, 1934. Later, in Genesee, Pa., she married Edwin M. Jones, who predeceased her June 24, 1975.
Mrs. Jones was a member of the Whitesville Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Whitesville Firemen`s Auxiliary and the Whitesville American Legion Auxiliary. She was a charter member of the American Legion Auxiliary and was honored in Whitesville`s Memorial Day parade last year.
Mrs. Jones was a loving and caring person to everyone and caring person to everyone and to animals. She was a devoted NASCAR and Buffalo Bills fan.
Surviving are a daughter, Wilma (Curtis) Robbins of Angelica; 12 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Claudine Patterson, in 1960; a great-granddaughter, Tracy Jane Robbins, in 1996; and a great-great-granddaughter, Nicole Whitsell, in 2001.
She was the youngest of 10 children and predeceased by all, including four brothers, Earl Swort, Ward Swort, Minard Swort and Royal Swort; and five sisters, Lucy ahvens, Ruth Teater, Gladys Nobles, Flora Dockstater and Hazel Swort.
Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the J. W. Embser Sons Funeral Home, Wellsville, where funeral services will be held Monday (Augs. 5, 2002) at 11 a.m. Her grandson, Pastor Dudley Jenkins, will officiate. Burial will be in Whitesville Rural Cemetery, Whitesville, Allegany Co, NY.
An American Legion Auxiliary memorial service will takek place Sunday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
