Notes:
Newspaper clipping of her death states that she died of paralysis. The article follows: Died Nov. 7, 1881, of paralysis, Fanny, wife of Lewis B. Fish, aged 69 years and one month. Mrs. Fish has spent most of her life in Independence, Allegany, NY, and was a very hard working woman, until a few years since, she began to lose her mind, which difficulty increased until death. She has left a husband and quite a large family of children.
Very little is known of Fanny. It is said that she died in the "poor house" in Angelica (an early county seat of Allegany Co) and was buried in Potter`s Field.
In various census records, she is listed as having been in Yates or Chenango County. Some census records list her as having been born in 1814. However, the record kept by Minerva FISH is probably more reliable and until prove otherwise, those dates will be considered official.
