Enlisted in Company F, 14th (one record says 13th) Regiment NY Heavy Artillery Sep. 3, 1864 at Caneadea; Co. D,13th NY Vol. Heavy Artillery; Transferred to Co F Regiment; discharged at Norfolk, Va, 24 May, 1865. Company records indicate that he was 5`10" tall, black hair, dark complexion, with hazel eyes.
1890 Census of Rushford says that he was in Company D, 13th regiment. Served 10 months.
Records of Bellville cemetery state that the Bellville Cemetery Association was formed in 1891, with Eber Lafferty elected president.
This constitution is still in force today.
At age 51, he was a carpenter, prop. of saw mill, and farmer, living in New Hudson Twp., according to Rushford record, Post Office directory of 1874-75. Info says that he was born in Sardenia,

Declaration for Pension filed May 29, 1891. Permanent disability from rheumatism, neuralgia, and heart disease.
Pension for his estate by his children also lists Hiram A. Lafferty of Springville, Erie, NY as brother, along with Riley Lafferty as administrator. Dated July 1, 1899. Also lists John G. Hames. (prob. judge) and Edwin H. Taylor.
