Notes:
In the 1790 Federal Census, John was living in Cortland, East Ward, and in 1800, in Malta, Saratoga Co. Since the county lines were moving so often in those days, I am not certain that everyone knew in which county he had been born. All of these were originally part of Albany County. Town of Malta was officially formed in 1802 from the town of Stillwater, so he was probably born in Stillwater, Albany Co. Wife born in RI.
